After three months since it opened, Levanto, a luxury building that features three premium furniture showrooms and six distinct dining concepts in Makati City, bagged the first-ever Lifestyle Asia Crave Curated (LA Crave Curated) recognition on June 23.
LA Crave Curated is an immersive dining platform and event series by high-society magazine Lifestyle Asia that celebrates exceptional food culture, culinary craftsmanship, and the visionaries behind Metro Manila’s dining destinations.
“First, thank you to Lifestyle Asia for recognizing Levanto as the first recipient of the Crave Curated distinction. We’re truly honored,” Donn Robert Ang, President of NIU and Penscott Corporation, said in his welcome remarks.
“When we first envisioned Levanto, the goal was simple: to create a place where people could experience the best of design, craftsmanship, and dining under one roof. We wanted to build a destination where people could discover beautiful things, enjoy great food, exchange ideas, and have a good time with family and friends.”
That vision is what shaped every floor of Levanto. The main program was held in the Venetian showroom, home to a collection of custom-designed tables — from marble dining pieces to statement gaming tables, including ping pong tables and billiards tables, which guests were able to try out.
Ang also invited the guests to explore the Monarq showroom downstairs and Systema showroom upstairs, two spaces that showcase different perspectives on furniture, kitchens, and design.
Asked three words to describe Levanto, Apples Aberin, One Mega Group, Inc. Vice President for Lifestyle Media Brands, said “Levanto is innovative, groundbreaking, and the-place-to-be — uh, not three words.”
But Levanto has always been about more than interiors. “We believe that some of life’s best moments happen around a table — whether through conversation, celebration, or a shared meal,” Ang shared.
This is why the fourth floor, aptly named “La Reserve,” is home to six distinct dining concepts: contemporary Filipino tasting restaurant Tadhana, whose New York City counterpart was recognized by the Michelin Guide; seafood steakhouse Taglish, Japanese gourmet restaurant Hakka; Mireia, a previously home-based private dining concept that has evolved into a full restaurant; sophisticated contemporary Australian steakhouse Brontë, and the premium wine lounge The Tasting Room. Together, they reflect the creativity, diversity, and evolving tastes of Metro Manila’s dining scene.
“My most memorable bite at Hakka is the A5 Wagyu Chawanmushi. It was so tender, absolutely the best, very memorable,” shared interior designer Vianca Añonuevo-Favila.
Fashion designer Rajo Laurel was ecstatic about the whole experience. “Oh my goodness! I actually loved the idea of it becoming sort of like big, then it became intimate, and now we’re having this lovely intimate dinner with old friends and new friends. I love the dynamics, but more importantly, I love that I get to experience fresh, new, exciting, talented, creative cuisines,” he said.
Among the who’s who in society who attended the event were TV and film executive Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar; celebrity aesthetic dermatologist Dr. Vicky Belo; eventologist Tim Yap; singer Claudia Barretto; lawyer and politician Karlo Nograles; entrepreneur Gerry Santos; prominent interior designers Nina Rica M. Santamaria, Carla Peña; and renowned architects Sonny Sunga and Arnold Austria, and renowned art consultant Miguel Rosales.
The LA Crave Curated recognition is the perfect example of what Donn Ang hoped Levanto could become — a place where people come together to discover, connect, and share experiences.
